No prizes for guessing this pub was once a brewery, and this ethos continues with its pride in offering good honestly-priced food and drink served by friendly staff in a happy atmosphere. Young’s ales sit beside guests, with Thatchers cider served too. Locally made sausages are a popular choice; differing flavours, including a special made with Young’s bitter, are served with creamy mash, caramelised onions and gravy. Other choices might include fish and chips, calves’ liver and bacon, the traditional steak and kidney suet pudding, or vegetarian tartiflette. Sharing platters and light bites are also available.
