This 1932-built pub on the outskirts of Winchester is well known for its wonderful floral displays in the summer months. Brid and Derek Phelan are strong on Irish charm and pride themselves on offering good, home-cooked food. Typically you can tuck into steak and ale pie; home-cooked gammon steak (topped with egg or pineapple), chips and peas; a choice of burgers. Vegetarian options, a short vegan menu and gluten-free options are also available. The pub has a large beer garden, smoking shelter, large car park and the new Regal Room for functions for up to 40 people.

From Union Street in town centre follow ‘All other routes’ sign. At roundabout 1st exit into High Street. At roundabout 1st exit into Bridge Street (B3404) signed Alton/Alresford, (becomes Alresford Road).
