The Glasshouse gets its name from Dutch glassmakers who settled locally in the 16th century but its origins can be traced back further, to 1450. A gimmick-free traditional pub, it is located in a fabulous rural setting with a country garden and an elegant interior. The inn serves a range of real ales including Butcombe and Sharp’s Doom Bar, plus home-cooked dishes such as fish pie; cod and chips; beef curry; steak and kidney served in Yorkshire puddings; and chilli. At lunch you can also choose from a range of sandwiches, ploughman’s lunches or basket meals of chips with the likes of scampi or sausage. There’s a choice of roasts at Sunday lunch – booking is advisable.
