The large inglenook fireplaces of this charming old pub recall the building’s days as the village bakery. Built in 1640, this award-winning Cotswold gem has an abundance of character thanks to the heavy beams and original flagstones in both the bar and Old Bakehouse dining room. Drinkers are spoilt for choice as the pub brews three of its own beers: Yubberton Yubby, Yawnie and Goldie, which sit alongside others such as Stroud’s and Hogans cider, as well as more than a dozen whiskies. Recognised with two AA Rosettes, the pub’s menu offers the likes belly of pork, spring cabbage, chorizo and creamed potato, with pistachio iced parfait, almond and blackberry to finish.
