The Butchers Arms

Stunning village inn popular with Cotswold walkers

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

Tucked away in glorious Cider with Rosie country, and convenient for the Cotswold market towns of Stroud and Cirencester, this beautiful 18th-century inn was once the village butchers and abattoir. Thick stone walls and solid oak beamed ceilings add to the timeless country home feel, as do farmhouse kitchen tables and three real ales including Wadworth 6X. Surrounded by excellent walks, lunchtime meals of ploughman’s salad and steak sandwiches keep welly-wearing visitors happy, with cottage pie; pan-fried scallops; and chicken breast stuffed with herby garlic butter and coated in panko bread crumbs, served on a bed of sweetcorn and pancetta mashed potato and stemmed broccoli also on offer.
