A cracking line-up at the locals’ bar

Bar menu
Open all year
Free Wi-Fi

This pretty 250-year-old half-timbered pub and restaurant is just out of town, but cannot be missed in summer when it is festooned with hanging baskets. Inside, a lovely old flagstone-floored locals’ bar proffers a great range of real ales and ciders. The owners believe in giving their diners high-quality, freshly prepared food that is great value for money. Menus tempt with modern British food: Isle of Man Scallops and black pudding; half a boned roasted Peking duck, cashew nuts, spring onions, pak choi, noodles and black bean sauce; lime-seared scallops, prawns and mussels in creamy white wine sauce. Smart casual dress and no children under 12 years is the order of the day here.
