There’s something for all comers at this cheery country pub in the lovely Stour Valley, a perfect rural setting for weddings, birthdays and celebrations of all types in a function room and private patio area. Challenge the quoits beds in the beer garden, or ramble on paths that Constable may once have walked; the pub even hosts cinema nights, quiz nights and theatre productions. Popular with locals and visitors drawn to the real ales and interesting wines, delicious home-cooked dishes include pasta carbonara; slow-cooked lamb shank with minted mash and braised red cabbage; and Thai green prawn and squid curry.
