Quaint old pub serving home-made food

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

A pretty, thatched 16th-century pub overlooking the village green with oak beams and a welcoming inglenook wood-burning stove. Enjoy a glass of wine (11 are offered by the glass) or a pint from the Mighty Oak brewery among others at the bar. The dishes are all prepared on the premises and might start with tempura duck spring rolls, Asian salad and hoi sin sauce; or dressed crab on toast, followed by roast Brixham skate, mash, wilted spinach, caper and lemon butter; hand-made minced Essex beefburger, brioche bun and French fries; or wild mushroom ravioli, woodland mushroom cream sauce, black truffle oil. Lighter lunches and ‘sandwich and soup’ add to the choices.
