Pint of beer on a bar

The Chetnole Inn

Tranquil village pub with garden overlooking fields

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

This is a bright and airy village inn situated opposite a pretty church deep in Thomas Hardy country. Plenty of walks thread their way through the rich countryside; it’s handy, too, for the historic town of Sherborne. The flagstone-floored snug, bar and restaurant make an ideal setting for the West Country meats and Bridport-landed seafood that fill the British menu. Choose perhaps herb butter -roasted chicken breast with sun blush tomatoes and mozzarella, or the home-made beefburger, and enjoy at a table in the tree-shaded garden, home to the pub’s hens. Local beers include Yeovil Ales Star Gazer and Wriggle Valley Copper Hoppa.
