Popular inn in pretty Dorset village

Expect a bar full of locals, families, dogs and even chickens under foot at this attractive pub. Situated in a picturesque village, the 17th-century inn has a welcoming and traditional atmosphere engendered by ancient beams, open fires in winter and huge inglenooks, one with an original bread oven. Palmers ales are on tap, along with various ciders, while home-made meals embrace Dorset charcuterie boards; fresh fish, ‘proper’ double crusted pies and excellent steaks. Regular events include folk music and poetry.
