The kitchen team here showcase the wealth of excellent local produce and they aim to keep the food miles to a minimum. Having established strong ties with local farmers and gamekeepers they can rely on top quality ingredients for dishes such as their venison burger; and black pudding beignet, juniper cured venison fillet and blackberry vinegar. All fish used is line caught – so perhaps try the smoked haddock, parsley and cheddar risotto; or cèviche of hand-dived scallops, cucumber, lemon, watercress and horseradish snow. Beer and cider aficionados will also enjoy the Fat Pig Brewery’s own creations, Fat Pig Ham 69, Phat Nancy’s, Pigmalion Ale, John Street Ale and Rusty Pig cider.
