Family-friendly pub with large garden near Dartmoor

This former drovers’ pub is in the hands of the capable Ward family who welcome everyone including families and visitors with dogs. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside, and with a large garden in which to enjoy a pint of Dartmoor Jail Ale, it's on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Renowned for their pies, chips and specials board, they also offer light snacks at lunchtime, and a great children’s menu. After a starter of potato skins with a choice of fillings, go for a seafood basket, featuring battered cod bits, battered squid rings, breaded butterfly prawns and breaded plaice goujons, accompanied with tartare sauce and a lemon slice.
