Magda and James Berry run this handsome thatched inn that has been part of daily life in this idyllic village since the 16th century. Whether you choose a spot near the log fire or out on the sunny patio in summer, this rural inn offers a friendly welcome. Local breweries and cider makers are well represented, with Teignworthy Gundog and Lilley’s Merry Monkey among the favourite tipples, along with a selection of over 30 gins. Local produce drives the menu, with typical dishes such as Fowey mussels in cream, garlic and white wine sauce; and Ley Farm cracked black pepper sausages, mash and onion gravy. A beer and cider festival is held on the last weekend in September.
