A white-painted, 18th-century inn standing just where tidal Bow Creek tapers to an end. Predictably, it was once a malthouse, malt being one of many commodities handled on the wide quay, now a lovely place to sit with a pint of Otter or Bays Topsail and admire the steep wooded river banks. Dine in the restaurant overlooking the creek, in the bar, or the fire-warmed Dart Cabin on seasonal, locally sourced home-smoked fish and shellfish; Exmoor venison; or Creedy Carver duck breast. To finish a meal, try the West Country cheeses. Events include an annual beer festival, live music and winter quizzes.
