Popular inn on the River Dart

At a glance

Bar menu
Beer festival
Open all year
Garden
Dog friendly
Free Wi-Fi

Named after the passenger, cargo and mail steamers that once plied the Dart, this riverside pub (alongside which you can moor your boat) offers great views, particularly from the conservatory restaurant and heated waterside patio, where there is plenty of seating. A real log fire warms the bar in the colder months. The choices at lunch and dinner might include potted smoked trout, sardines, garlic, lemon and rosemary, pork belly, crab and chorizo linguine, plus daily fish specials on the blackboard. Look out for the three-day beer festival in mid-May, occasional live music and summer barbecues.
