Ancient inn known for its warm welcome and good food

Bar menu
Open all year

Dating back to the 12th century, when it was home to masons working on nearby St Andrew’s church, this very old house is run by Mandy Robinson, who prides herself on running a ‘proper pub’, with a menu of locally-sourced delights. Start with jerk chicken, mango chutney, chilli and coriander; follow on with grilled gammon ham, double free-range eggs, chips and peas; or a trio of local sausages accompanied by mashed potato, tenderstem broccoli, onion rings and red onion gravy. There’s a lovely cottage garden to the side of the pub, and a wood-burner blazing in the winter.
