Pint of beer on a bar

The Langstrath Country Inn

At a glance

Bar menu
Dog friendly

Sitting in the stunning Langstrath Valley in the heart of the Lakes and on the coast-to-coast and Cumbrian Way walks, this lovely family-run, 16th-century inn was originally a miner’s cottage. It is an ideal base for those attempting England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike, and the restaurant is ideally positioned to maximise the spectacular views. Here hungry ramblers enjoy high-quality Lakeland dishes based on local ingredients. A typical choice could include pheasant, duck, chicken and pistachio terrine; home-made steak and ale pie; chicken, wild boar, salami and leek steamed suet pudding; and oven-baked salmon fillet with Mediterranean vegetables. Local cask-conditioned ales include some from the Keswick Brewery.
