Own-brewed beer and ever-popular food

Beer festival
Microbrewed ales
Open all year

The stone-floored, beamed bar is the perfect spot to sample the pub’s own real ales, brewed on site at their microbrewery. The beer festival in the third week of September will get you even more closely acquainted, while a cider festival is held during the second weekend of December. The pub, in the former mansion house stables, was a courtyard for alfresco eating and drinking, but if the weather’s on the chilly side, enjoy a drink by a roaring fire. Regional producers supply the best local ingredients, try perhaps black pudding Scotch egg, beetroot chutney; followed by the trio of Northumbrian sausages, buttered mash and Beamish Ale gravy; or vegetable Madras with fragrant rice.
