There are fabulous views over the Helford estuary from this waterside pub, which dates back 300 years. Whether it’s a plate of oysters and a glass of fizz on the sunny, south-facing terrace or a 100% brisket burger, mustard pickles and chips by the warmth of the granite fireplace inside, this is a venue for all weathers. Everything is made on the premises and the Ferryboat burger is especially popular. The pub is owned by Wright Brothers, custodians of the Duchy of Cornwall’s oyster farm, so the quality of the shellfish and seafood speaks for itself. If available, perhaps try Cornish brown crab rarebit, white crab and pickled vegetables.
