Built as a pub to serve harbour workers, at one time this early 19th-century Cornish stone cottage served as a mortuary for ill-fated seafarers, so there are plenty of ghost stories. Tin-mining and shipwreck photographs adorn the low-beamed interior of the bar where you can wash down a meal with a pint of Skinner’s real ale. The menu makes the most of local seafood, such as mussels cooked in white wine and garlic sauce and seafood stew, but also provides a wide selection of alternatives, including steak and ale pie; and gammon steak, egg, peas, pineapple and chips.
