A traditional pub set in the heart of the Cheshire farming village of Goostrey, The Crown has been an integral part of community life since the 18th century. Beyond its red-bricked façade, the pub’s interior retains much charm with old oak beams and real fireplaces. Local breweries including Weetwood and a selection from microbreweries in Cheshire are well represented, perhaps accompanied by home-made crackling. The extensive modern menu takes in Thai green vegetable curry; moules marinière; crisp pork belly; and rib of beef and ale pie. Check with the pub for details of its summer beer festival and its annual gooseberry-growing competition.
