Welcoming pub with unbeatable estuary location

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year
Free Wi-Fi

The salt marshes begin right in front of The Boat House, so there's nothing to spoil the views of north Wales across the estuary. Once a thriving Deeside port, Parkgate's silted-up waters are now a nature reserve, although exceptionally high tides do still reach the walls of this striking black-and-white-timbered pub. Real ales include Hydes Original, while for food stay in the bar or head for the Dee-facing dining room. Menus, always with a good fish and seafood selection, might offer seared scallops and pork belly, followed by classic fish pie.
