Lovely pub on a working farm

At a glance

Bar menu
Dog friendly

Part farmhouse, part pub, the little-changed interior comprises a main bar serving Robinsons real ales and quirky rooms with open fires and rustic furnishings. Memorable for its impression of timelessness, it dates from 1664 and has been licensed since 1710. On offer is good pub food made extensively from the wealth of local produce, so expect rump, sirloin and gammon steaks; fish and chips; vegetarian dishes; sandwiches; pizzas; burgers; plus daily specials and Sunday roasts. Early October sees the annual conker championship here.
