This lovely early 18th-century owner-operated thatched inn still boasts traditional beams and inglenook fireplace. The spacious interior consists of a formal conservatory and a bar with comfy furniture and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Using the freshest, seasonal ingredients from local and regional suppliers, the menu takes in starters like smoked haddock and leek arancini; and pulled ham and cheese croquette; and mains like Cumberland sausage ring with creamed potatoes and braised red cabbage; pan-roasted chicken breast with lentil and root vegetable casserole; or home-made burger in a brioche bun.
