A thatched former farmhouse dating back to 1600, The Crooked Billet is located just south west of Milton Keynes. With log fires in winter and a large garden for warmer months, the pub has a real family feel for drinkers who can enjoy glasses of Abbot Ale or one of the 17 wines served by the glass. A bar menu offering sandwiches, steaks, burgers and home-made pies runs alongside the à la carte that might include corn-fed chicken, Lyonnaise potatoes, ratatouille and basil pesto. Time a visit for the Early May Bank Holiday beer festival.
