From the outside, a largely unchanged Victorian, red-brick building with attractive, bargeboarded gables; the interior is an object lesson in how modern design can work successfully in a 19th-century shell. Although owned by Greene King, right of entry is given to guest real ales from breweries such as Siren Craft in the village and Windsor & Eton. Food-wise, honourable mentions may be made of ham hock to share; trio of lamb; poached smoked haddock; and rare breed burger.. A lunch selection includes a variety of sandwiches; Toulouse sausage cassoulet; and ham, egg and chips.
