One of the oldest village buildings, this inn is owned by the Upham Group so you’ll find their brewery’s tasty beers at the bar. The log fire-warmed village snug remains a comfy focus for chatter or contemplation, whilst an airy restaurant with eye-catching decor or a heated patio offer alternative locations to sit, sup and study the compact, well-balanced menu. The chefs home-in on local suppliers and create dishes such as glazed pork faggot with black pudding, baked potato purée, Savoy cabbage and honeyed parsnip; and curried Brixham crab and leek omelette. Specials may feature game from the local estates and woods that characterise this green heart of Berkshire.
