A reputation built on friendly service and good food
At a glance
Close to Woburn Abbey and the Safari Park, this is a smart, family-run bar and restaurant. In the contemporary bar, you'll quickly take in its red walls, slate bar-top and strategic lighting, designed to help you relax and unwind. The equally contemporary restaurant is welcoming, with a menu offering baguettes, salads and dishes such as pan-fried Woburn Estate venison steak, with roast beetroot and shallots; roasted free-range chicken supreme, sautéed mushrooms and shallot purée; and vegetarian platter. On the evening menu are chargrilled swordfish steak with lobster and brandy bisque; confit English pork belly with caramelised apple purée; and Thai spiced red pepper and butternut squash risotto. Then again, why not choose fresh fish or a steak cooked on an open griddle? Traditional roasts on Sundays, of course, and live music some Friday evenings.
