Look out for sea eagles while travelling the seven miles from Tobermory's brightly painted houses to the whitewashed cottages of Dervaig, and Mull's oldest hotel, dating from 1608. The chefs here take full advantage of produce from the island's coastal waters and surrounding moors, as in starters like smoked trout and smoked salmon salad; and house-smoked venison show. Further options might be dishes involving crab or mackerel, for example, or maybe red Thai chicken curry. Mull cheeses come with oatcakes and chutney.
