Seafood lovers flock to this modern bar and bistro, part of the Loch Melfort Hotel, next door to National Trust Scotland's Arduaine Garden. It's not just the langoustines, scallops and mussels they come for – the views over Asknish Bay towards Jura, Scarba and Shuna are a real treat, too. Enjoy Fyne Ales from Cairndow, and perhaps Ayrshire ham and lentil soup; a warm Argyll pork loin, home-made apple sauce sandwich; Isle of Seil oysters; home-made Scottish wild venison burger; or Aberdeen Angus beef and black pudding lasagne. If sitting outside is out of the question, you can watch the waves crashing against the rocks from in front of the fire. Children's dishes include penne pasta, and breaded chicken mini fillets, chips and beans. Sailors can moor free of charge from April to October, hang up their oilskins and freshen up with a shower. The hotel's Asknish Bay Restaurant has been awarded two AA Rosettes.
