Previously, an inn and pub but also a Temperance Inn until regaining its license in the 1970s; the property is currently fully licensed and comprises two buildings, The Blacksmiths and the main house. Walkers are well catered for, with a boot- and wet-kit room which even boasts boot-drying equipment. Located close to Hadrian's Wall and even closer to Lanercost Priory, it's an ideal base to tour the surrounding area with Edinburgh, Newcastle, the North Pennines and the Lakes all within easy reach, as the A69 is just minutes away. Dinner is available by prior arrangement.
