Car Hire
Car Hire cover keeps you on the road if your car is stolen or written off following an accident.
Additional drivers named on your car insurance policy will also be insured to drive the hire car if they have a full UK driving licence and are aged between 18 and 78 when the policy starts.
Car Hire benefits
- receive a hire car for up to 21 days (comprehensive policies)
- the hire car will be an insurance Group A model (ie with a 1.0 litre engine)
- a hire car delivered by a national car hire network
- no limit on car hire claims
Am I eligible for Car Hire?
- you'll need a full driving licence
- you'll need an AA Car Insurance policy – Comprehensive or Third Party, Fire & Theft*
- as the policyholder you must be aged between 18 and 78 when the car hire policy begins.**

* For Third Party, Fire & Theft policies a hire car is available for up to 14 days.
** If you live in Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man you must be over 23 years of age when the Car Hire policy begins.
