The Globe Inn

A popular meeting place in the 19th century, The Globe was rebuilt in 1901 and completely refurbished nearly 100 years later. The restored exterior shows off its original appearance, while interior decoration has followed design styles of the era - the elegant carved bar and fireplaces reinforce its period character; air conditioning in public areas and satellite television are two concessions to 21st-century living. Beers from large breweries, menus of pub grub, a function room, and en suite accommodation complete the picture. Food-wise expect wraps, ciabattas, sandwiches, burgers, and jackets as well as steak and kidney pie, cod and chips and cottage pie.
