The Fire Station

150 Waterloo Road, LONDON, SE1 8SB

The remarkable conversion of this former fire station has kept many of its former trappings intact, including the original brickwork, doors and red fire buckets. The bar offers draught and bottled beers as well as cocktails and wines. The rear dining room faces the open kitchen; there are breakfast, set lunch, Sunday, restaurant and pre-theatre menus to take your pick from, as well as bar snacks and light bites. Dishes are home-made, traditional British and European, for example bouillabaisse, and chicken, walnut and tarragon ballotine. The handy location close to Waterloo, the Old Vic Theatre and Imperial War Museum means it can get busy.
