The ten acres of Compton Acres incorporate Japanese and Italian gardens, rock and water gardens, and heather gardens. There are fine views over Poole Harbour and the Purbeck Hills. The beautiful wooded valley is an amazing place to explore the wide range of plants. The Italian garden was used as a location in Stanley Kubrick's 1975 movie, Barry Lyndon. There is also a tea room, a craft shop and café within the gardens.
