"The AA saved my son from a locked car"

#ithappenedtome

"Last Christmas Day I was making the long journey from Leicester to Taunton with my 3-year-old son. He slept for most of the trip but around 30 miles into the journey he woke up needing the loo.

"I pulled over and, as I walked around to get him out, the cheeky monkey grinned and hit the central locking button!

"I spent a few minutes trying in vain to coax him into opening the door but he couldn’t and was strapped into his seat. My mobile phone was also in the car! Luckily a phone wasn’t far away so I ran to it.

"Within minutes the AA had arrived on the scene along with the Highways Agency, police and fire brigade.

"By this time I was really upset as my little boy was crying but everyone worked so well together to get him out safe and sound. The policeman danced outside the car window to keep my little boy entertained, leaving the AA man to successfully get the car unlocked.

"I’m so glad it worked out well in the end – and although he was a bit of a nuisance on the day I now have a brilliant story to tell my little one when he’s older!"
