Ever needed to add a friend to your car insurance for a day or two or borrow someone else's vehicle? A separate short-term car insurance policy allows you to cover additional drivers on your vehicle without putting the no-claims bonus on your main car insurance at risk.
Automobile Association Insurance Services Limited will introduce you to Temporary Cover Limited, who arrange Short Term Car Insurance. When you click Get a quote you will enter Temporary Cover Limited's website, where you can get a quote or buy temporary car insurance. Please note, there is no discount available for buying temporary car insurance online.
Temporary (short-term) car insurance is ideal for:
- temporary additional drivers
- temporary additional cars
- unaccompanied vehicle demonstrations or use of courtesy cars
- lending a car to a friend, colleague or relative
- immediate drive-away insurance if you've just bought a car
Temporary (short-term) car insurance is available for:
- any car you can drive with a standard UK driving licence
- any person with a current full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 6 months, European Union licence for a minimum of 12 months or a provisional driving licence
- any person who has been resident in the UK for 12 months or more
- any insurance period from 1 to 28 days
- drivers aged between 18 and 75
Terms and conditions for your Short Term Car Insurance are available online and Temporary Cover Limited will send you complete documentation after you've bought your policy.
