Development of a free driving course for rusty and nervous drivers has helped the AA Charitable Trust win a prestigious road safety award.
If you're a qualified driver who'd like refresher driver training to increase your confidence on the road, you could be eligible for free training with one of the AA's qualified driving instructors.

The AA Charitable Trust for Road Safety and the Environment is offering free courses of two hours' guided tuition for qualified drivers who need refresher training.

There's no test at the end of the course – the sessions are simply about helping you become a more confident driver.
The two hours of training are totally free of charge. We'll assess your details to see if you meet the criteria and if you're successful we'll phone you to arrange your driving sessions.
If you've passed your test but you're not sure about driving on motorways, refresh your skills and increase your confidence with our motorway lessons.
You can book a minimum of two hours with one of our fully-qualified driving instructors, who will give you valuable guidance and feedback. You’ll have in-car lessons supported by an accompanying motorway driving workbook.

Once you pass your test you can drive on the roads unaccompanied, but it’s important to remember that you are still an inexperienced driver.
Pass Plus is a scheme designed by the Driving Standards Agency, with the help of the motor insurance and driving instruction industries, to help new drivers to gain confidence and experience after they pass their test.
