Our qualified instructors can design a lesson around you and your needs across as many hours as you need to practice any of these skills (as long as it's a minimum of 2 hours). Let us know what you want to cover and our instructors will handle the rest.

Pass Plus

Once you pass your test you can drive on the roads unaccompanied, but it's important to remember that you're still an inexperienced driver.

Pass Plus is a scheme designed by the Driving Standards Agency, with the help of the motor insurance and driving instruction industries. It helps new drivers to gain confidence and experience after they pass their test.

With Pass Plus, you could even reduce your car insurance premiums or get an extra no-claims bonus.

A 6-hour set course, it'll help you to:

  • Develop existing skills
  • Learn new skills and techniques
  • Improve anticipation and awareness
  • Learn how to reduce the risk of accidents
  • Maintain a courteous and considerate attitude on the road

FAQs

What will I learn on the advanced driving courses?
While covering a range of different aspects of driving, all of these courses will teach you how to become a safer, more capable driver. As an advanced driver, you’ll be more in control of your vehicle. In turn, you’ll become less of a danger to other road users. And you’ll better anticipate which road users pose danger to you.

You can learn better handling and road positioning, and how to read the road more effectively.

You can learn how to handle adverse road conditions better. For example, with our all-weather refresher lessons, you’ll be taught how to deal effectively with winter conditions such as ice and snow. Can you honestly say at the moment that you’d be able to handle your vehicle if you went into a skid or began aquaplaning? After further training, you can be confident that you’d be able to deal with these potentially dangerous situations more safely.
What are the benefits of becoming an advanced driver?
There’s more to being an advanced driver than bragging rights. First and foremost, as a highly skilled driver, you’ll be safer on the roads.

You’ll also be more confident and competent. With the Pass Plus, for instance, you’ll become more considerate, and also observant. The course teaches drivers to read situations quickly and effectively. You might also find that you get more out of your vehicle.
Will taking an advanced driving course reduce my car insurance?
Perhaps not directly. Most advanced driving courses – including those offered by us – won’t necessarily be recognised by car insurance providers. With the exception of the Pass Plus, which is recognised by some insurers, becoming an advanced driver probably won’t get you a discount on your premium.

However, becoming a safer driver certainly can’t hurt. It follows that, the safer you are on the roads, the less likely you are to be involved in an accident. If you have a good record of incident-free driving, this will be reflected in the car insurance prices you’re offered. You’ll also build up a healthy no-claims bonus (NCB).
