Gift membership

Give someone peace of mind on the road with AA Breakdown Cover Gift Membership. It’s an ideal present for someone who’s just passed their driving test or is moving away from home.

We can send a gift pack to you or straight to a friend or family member. After they’ve received it, they simply need to call us within six months of the date of purchase to activate their membership.

Terms and conditions for gift membership

Modified terms and conditions apply to Gift membership, and these take precedence over the general membership terms and conditions contained in the Gift membership pack and any further membership documentation sent in connection with a Gift membership.

Gift membership entitles the recipient to 12 months’ AA Membership at the specified membership level, upon activation. Activation must take place within six months of the date of purchase. After six months has elapsed, the Gift membership cannot be activated.

Gift membership cannot be used by existing AA Members for their renewal, nor can it be exchanged for any other AA products or services. Gift membership cannot be used in conjunction with any special offer or discount.

To cancel Gift membership before activation, call 0800 032 0262. If the Gift membership is cancelled within 28 days of purchase and has not been activated, a full refund will be given to the card on which the original purchase was made. After this 28 day period or activation, whichever is the sooner, the buyer will have no further right to cancel. If the Gift membership is activated and then cancelled within 14 days from receipt of the membership documentation (the ‘cooling-off period’), a full refund will be issued to the card on which the original purchase was made, less an administration fee. After this cooling-off period has expired and subject to any other statutory rights, there will be no entitlement to any refund for unexpired portions of membership.

No service will be provided to holders of unactivated Gift membership. Home Start, Relay and Stay Mobile services (if applicable) are not available until 24 hours after activation of the Gift Membership. Gift membership cannot be activated in a breakdown situation where immediate service is required.
