"I couldn't drive my car so the AA did"

#ithappenedtome

"I took my car into town to do a bit shopping. It was a really cold day and the snow was so compacted on the pavement that it was like an ice rink.

"After parking the car, I had only gone a short distance when I slipped and fell. Instinctively I put out my arm to cushion the fall and broke my wrist – badly.

"Naturally, I ended up in the hospital instead of the high street.

"That’s when I encountered my next problem. With my arm in plaster, how was I going to get my car home? The hospital kindly called the AA who sent a patrol over to collect the car keys from me.

"I then told him what make my car was and its registration number, as well as exactly where I had parked it.

"He then put my mind totally at rest by collecting my car, driving it home and posting the keys through my letterbox. You can’t imagine my relief when I got home and saw it parked on the drive."
