Recently I had my new car serviced for the first time. Shortly after I drove to the supermarket, and in the car park another driver told me the rear lights weren't working on my car. He thought it had probably blown a fuse.

I went back to the shop and got some fuses. But in the dim supermarket car park I couldn't see where to look in the boot to change them. So I called the AA.

A very, very nice AA man turned up within ten minutes and went through his checks. As looked at the lights I realised the guys that had done the service had changed the light settings from 'Auto' to 'Off'. So the whole time, the lights just hadn't been switched on!

I'd like to thank the AA for arriving so quickly, and being totally professional, even when I had made such a basic error. Not my brightest moment, but it could have been a lot worse!
