"One customer wanted an AA key"

"I took a new sales call from a man in his nineties. He had previously been a member with us for years.

"At the end of the call, having given him his membership number and explained the timescales for his card being sent out, I asked if there was anything else I could help him with.  ‘When will I get my key?’ he replied. ‘Your key?’ I asked. ‘Yes, for the box.’

"Thankfully I’m old enough to remember my father having a key for the AA box in my childhood, so I knew what he meant!

"Of course, I explained that there was no need for them anymore and ironically just the week after, when clearing out my father’s house, I found his AA key and car badge! Maybe I should have sent the gentleman those!"
