How to register


What type of user name can I use?

Your user name must be at least eight characters long. You can use your email address as your user name.

What type of password can I use?

Your password should be at least eight characters long and should include at least one number, one upper case and one lower case letter, for example: Automobil3.

My address is different from the address I gave you when I bought my product. What should I do?

The address you enter when you register will not alter any of the details we hold for any AA products you have bought. Your product details are held separately.

Why do I need to give my email address?

You'll need to enter a valid email address to register (eg anne@example.com). We'll use this address to send you a confirmation email, or a new password if you forget yours.

What happens if I select 'Remember me'?

If you select 'Remember me'. a cookie is stored on your computer that will complete your user name for you when you sign in. Choose the 'Remember me' option if you plan to sign in from a private computer. We don't recommend this option if you use an office or public computer.

How to sign in


What happens if I forget my password?

If you've forgotten your password, click Forgotten your password? and we'll send you a new temporary password. When you sign in with this password you'll be able to change it to one that's easier to remember.

What happens if I forget my user name?

If you forget your user name you will need to register again because we will not be able to email you a replacement password without your user name.

What happens if I enter my sign in details incorrectly?

If you enter your details incorrectly at three consecutive attempts, where these attempts are all within 15 minutes of each other, you will be locked out for 15 minutes. During this time you can still click the Forgotten your password? link to receive a temporary password by email.

How to add a product


How do I add a product to my account?

To add a product you will need your product reference, eg your AA membership number. Once your details have been checked your product will be added to your account.

I want to add a product, what is my reference?

If you want to add Breakdown Cover, your reference will be your AA membership number.

If you want to add a car or home insurance policy to your account, your reference will be your policy number.

If you want to renew your car or home insurance policy, enter your policy number when you are asked for your reference.

If you want to request a copy of your car insurance certificate, please enter your policy number when you are asked for your reference.

To save a car or home insurance quote, enter your quote reference.

If you are a driving school customer your reference will be your pupil number.

Why can't I add all of the products or services I have bought from the AA?

Currently it is possible to add a selection of AA products. When you select Add item from the My AA page you will see a list of products which can be added to your secure area.

How to update your details


What happens when I remove a product?

When you remove a product it is removed from the My AA list in your secure area. Removing a product from your account does not affect the status of a product you have paid for. Your product details are held separately.

What happens if I close my account?

When you close your account, the details you gave us when you registered will be removed from our user database. Closing your account will not affect the status of any products or services you have paid for. The details used to administer your products and services are held separately. If you close your account, but subsequently wish to manage your AA products and services online, you will need to register again.

Can I change my address details?

Yes, to change your address select Update my details from the My AA page and enter your new address in the form, and then click the Update details button to confirm the change. Changing your address will not alter the address details held for the products you have bought from the AA. To change your product details please contact the appropriate service centre.
