It marks a new business partnership between AA DriveTech and the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, near Lutterworth in Leicestershire, allowing AA DriveTech to use Bruntingthorpe as its new prestigious base for these business-focused road safety events.

Building on its track record in occupational road risk management, AA DriveTech will be offering a new suite of driver training packages focused on Business Drivers, Professional Drivers, VIP and Security and different bespoke Driving Experiences.

Allowing delegates to experience a number of different and unusual driving experiences including skid control, high- and low-speed “brake, steer and avoid”, off-road 4x4 driving, personal security and vehicle dynamics, the event packages will offer organisations a new way to educate and refresh their business drivers’ capabilities in a unique, exciting, yet relevant way.

The Bruntingthorpe site, located centrally in England, close to the M1, was constructed in 1942 as a World War II airfield and was used extensively for early tests on jet-engined aircraft. Following a brief period in the 1960s, when the site was used by the RAF, Bruntingthorpe became a sought-after venue for vehicle testing, heavily exploiting its runway – the second longest in the UK after Heathrow – and perimeter roads.

Over the past 11 years, it has been used extensively to accommodate and support a full range of events from small meetings through to large gatherings, all taking advantage of its excellent location and facilities.
