08 February 2024

The AA has issued advice for travelling via Eurotunnel and Port of Dover as part of their half-term break.

Both Eurotunnel and Port of Dover expect to see higher than normal volumes of traffic this weekend. The AA advise travellers to check ahead for traffic delays by using the AA Route Planner in addition to the official Port of Dover website.

Port authorities encourage travellers to make sure they prepare for potential delays by having access to water, snacks and any essential medication. Passengers should have their travel documents open on ID pages when they arrive at border control points.

Port authorities state that Coaches arriving at the Port of Dover more than three hours before their departure time will not be permitted entry and that all coaches must use the designated Coach Processing Facility in Dover’s Western Docks on Friday 9 (10.30-21.30), Saturday 10 (11.30-22.30) and Friday 16 February (12.00-23.00).
