An authentic Georgian country pub on the village green, the Bell is near Blakeney and the salt marshes of north Norfolk and is done up in light and airy modern fashion. The cooking has a pleasingly traditional air about it, so you might have smoked haddock and horseradish fishcake with a poached egg, then pork belly slow-cooked for 12 hours, served with cider-braised apple, fennel fritters and champ. There are also precisely cooked classics such as beer-battered fish and chips, or puff-pastried partridge pie with roasted roots. Finish on Eton Mess made with winter fruits, or orange and star anise blancmange with candied orange.
