Handy for the nearby Tivoli Theatre, this 18th-century townhouse has become a stylish restaurant with uncluttered lines and unclothed tables flooded with daylight from the French windows. Greg Etheridge cooks to a modern European template, with seafood and fish a notably strong suit. Fillet of Bradford Farm beef carpaccio with sweet onion purée, celeriac remoulade, rocket and balsamic salad is one successful starter. This might be followed by oven-baked skate wing, pan-fried potato gnocchi, pancetta, yellow courgette, cherry tomatoes, samphire and black olive tapenade. Finish with passionfruit crème brûlée, homemade ginger biscuits and lavender-sugared raspberries.
