With its fashionably pared-back looks - wood floors, bare tables and black high-backed seats - chef-patron Billy Whitty's restaurant with rooms achieves a stylish informality. It has also become something of a hot spot on the local foodie scene thanks to its sharply-executed dishes that deliver the finest local ingredients at their seasonal best. Dishes arrive looking rustically attractive and full of flavour - perhaps pan-fried turbot with crispy pork belly, carrot purée and butter crumb to start, followed by roast venison loin with hazelnuts, turnip purée, wild mushrooms and port jus. Lemon posset with raspberry and vodka sorbet is the sort of dessert to expect.
