Chances are you've heard of the laudable objective behind Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Foundation, and here it is in full swing: young people given a chance to shine, and shine they do. The location is rather special: right on the beach, looking out over the surf, floor to ceiling glass giving everyone a view, and the décor is modish simplicity at its best. The cooking is Italian, Jamie stylee, which means first-rate ingredients (plenty of local stuff too) and unfussy preparations. Start, perhaps, with antipasti to share, or go for celeriac and roasted garlic soup with almond gremolata, before the likes of Primrose Herd pork shoulder with bianco perla polenta, cavolo nero and rosemary and anchovy dressing. It might be more expensive than you think, so check out the prices first if you're on a budget.
