From the street the premises look rather unassuming but don't be deterred. The long, simply styled room you'll enter is decorated in black, grey and silver, with a small bar near the entrance and a young, friendly serving team. Well-balanced flavours are brought out in starters of home-made chicken liver parfait with red onion marmalade, and sticky chipolatas with honey and wholegrain mustard. Turning to the mains, choices include slow-roasted, home-cured pork belly with Chinese five spice, Asian slaw and sweet chilli, and marinated smoked fish kedgeree risotto with a free-range egg. For vegetarians, there's gnocchi with pumpkin, feta and pine nuts.
